In Rwanda, many families, particularly those in rural areas, struggle to secure enough food to eat consistently due to various factors such as poverty, land scarcity, and drought.

Children, including those with disabilities, often attend school on an empty stomach, affecting their ability to learn and grow. The rising cost of food in Rwanda has increased this problem, making access to nutritious meals even more challenging for this vulnerable children.

The primary objectives of this program are:

– To ensure that students, particularly those with disabilities, receive consistent and nutritious meals at school.

– To improve the overall health, well-being, and educational outcomes of these students.

–  To alleviate the burden on families struggling to provide food for their children.

When we get home there is not much or nothing to eat. So we sleep and wait for tomorrow to come back to school and get another lunch, and sometimes we go to school with an empty stomach.
